Enjoy the natural beauty of Aokigahara Jukai(sea of trees)

The other day, I went hiking in Aokigahara Jukai.

This is an area where various rumors are flying around, but they are only limited to certain places.

There are also areas where we can hike to enjoy nature.
(There is also a tour guide who explains the nature of the sea of trees)

The reason why I chose to walk through the sea of trees is because the ground is covered with lava, so we can enjoy a different view from the usual mountain scenery.

The Jogan eruption of Mt. Fuji (864) occurred about 1,200 years ago, and over many years it took on its current appearance.

I started from Saiko Bat Hole and headed for Wild Bird Forest Park.

The walking path is gentle and easy to walk.

The area under feets is solidified lava, and we can see some small holes in lava.

A unique feature of the sea of trees is that there are cavities here and there.

As the lava that flowed out from the eruption cooled over time, the surface that was exposed to the air solidified first, and the lava inside flowed out.

This is how cavities were created.

Besides, the vegetation is limited to trees and moss, and its trunk is thin and curved because the ground is lava, .

It somehow reminds me of the scenery of Ghibli anime.

Trunks grow vertically like branches from fallen trees.

Multiple trunks grow from one tree.

After walking 2-3 km, I safely arrived at Wild Bird Forest Park.

There are signs along the way so we don’t get lost.

There are fewer people walking on this trail than on regular hiking trails, so you can walk at your own pace.
(During the day on Saturday, I passed about 10 groups)

Recommended for those who want to enjoy the unique nature created on lava in silence.
