The beauty of handmade

I bought a new plate.

The colorful plates have some disadvantages:

  • They are not dishwasher or microwave safe
  • They fade over time

But they also add a vibrant color to any food you put on them .(even brown food)

In addition to tasting the food with my tongue, I can also enjoy looking at the design of the plates.

So I decided to buy them.

Rather than mathematically drawn lines and circles, each design has a unique line and circle size, giving it a handmade feel.

There is proof that it was created by a single person (?) who spent their life time on it.

I’m not sure what kind of feelings the person had when they made it (whether they enjoyed it or not), but looking at it makes me feel refreshed.

It’s also a fun time to think about and imagine how the design was created.

When surrounded by homogeneous things, the focus is on the function of the plate, which is to hold food.

Therefore, there is a tendency to emphasize functionality such as dishwasher and microwave compatibility rather than design.

Not only

Well-shaped and easy to use

But also

Uneven and difficult to use, but enjoyable

By incorporating things into our life, we can escape from the inorganic nature of everyday life.

The journey of finding fun continues.
