In order to concentrate, switch between different activities when you get bored
Concentrated time is valuable.
This is because it allows us to get things done efficiently in a short amount of time.
In my case, I can concentrate for an hour.
Over that, I get bored.
When I get bored with what I’m doing, I try to switch gears rather than forcing myself to continue with what’s in front of me.
Sometimes I stop working and go for a run.

Other than that, I sometimes do things like
- reading
- housework
- shopping
- watching recorded TV programs (dramas, travel shows, anime)
- listening to the radio
- taking naps.
I also have about an hour to switch off.
I then go back to work or do something else, dividing it into about an hour intervals.
If I just can’t switch gears, I call it a day and put off work until the next day.
That’s why I try not to pack my schedule too tightly.
(If my schedule is packed, it’s hard to carry over work.)
One way is to work late and get things done on the same day.
However, while I was able to get things done by brute force when I was younger, it’s becoming less possible as I get older.
(If I don’t get enough sleep, it will inevitably affect the next day.)
This can lead to more mistakes, and a vicious cycle.
Time is limited.
It’s essential to think every day about how to create an environment where we can concentrate.
