Discomfort is the driving force behind changing standards
When studying history, we may look back and realize that there were strange systems in the past.
If we shift the timeline and look at the present from the future, we will look back and realize that there were strange systems in the past.
This is proof that society is constantly changing, and the saying "impermanence" is a good one.
Even in the present, we all have times when we wonder,
why do such systems and standards exist?
(The standard for what is strange is strange from a specific perspective, and there is a difficult debate about what strange means in the first place, but here we will define strange as something that feels strange from one's own perspective.)
It's fine to live under a certain system or standard while pretending to obey.
However, the most dangerous thing is when the sense of discomfort weakens and you start to think, "Oh well."
This is a state in which emotions and thinking are suspended, which is not good for mental health.
Of course, as long as there are people who benefit from certain systems and standards, change will take time.
However, history shows that things will eventually change.
(Though we don't know how long it will take.)
In today's world, where values are diversifying, there is more freedom for individual opinions than ever before.
I recommend that you improve those standards, distance yourself from them, or run away while the discomfort is still intense.
Because change will come eventually.
