Letting go of things makes us feel better

As part of preparation for the end of the year, I have been sorting out the things in my room for the past few days.

Sorting out and throwing away our things was popular a while ago and was called “danshari.”

I’m throwing away or selling things based on the one-year rule (throw away anything I haven’t used for a year).

I’ve been living in my current place for seven years, but after moving, I find boxes that I’ve never opened.

It’s common to find memorable items and stop tidying up when we’re sorting out our room.

It’s not realistic to hold on to everything that has accumulated over 40 years of life.

Things will continue to accumulate like a snowball.

It’s essential to gradually release them.

Otherwise, we won’t be able to put in new things.

Replacing and taking things in and out is as important as breathing.

Also, the physical act of throwing things away feels like it’s expelling something from inside us mentally, and it makes us feel a lot better.

Once we throw something away, we can let go of the irreversibility of the fact that there is no going back.

I recommend starting organizing our room little by little as getting closer to the end of the year.
