Sometimes changing perspective on money
Everyone is happy to receive cash (unless it's illegal).
However, recently, my perspective on money has been changing.
This is especially true when purchasing items with cash.
To pay, we hand over banknotes with illustrations of famous people and receive the items.
I sometimes think to myself,
This is a piece of paper with an illustration of a person I don't know very well. Can I really exchange this for something?
(Of course, I have great respect for the famous people depicted and the craftsmanship that went into creating the banknotes.)
This is the cycle I often think.
Someone I don't know very well are printed to banknotes,
and these are one of the payment methods.
It's true that this is how economies have developed.
However, since the transition to a credit-based economy, banknotes themselves have lost their value.
If they lose their credibility as exchange value, no one will accept them.
Prices are currently rising, but this can also be seen as a decline in the value of the medium of exchange itself.
(This does not diminish the dignity of the strangers depicted on banknotes.)
There is no single type of money that has exchange value; there are many different means of exchange.
When purchasing something with cash, these thoughts suddenly cross my mind.
