Becoming aware of the unconscious

There are many situations in everyday life where we act unconsciously.

For example, let’s say I make the decision to pick up a cup that is on a desk some distance away, and then I go to get the cup.

What I am thinking about at this time is, “Pick up the cup.”

However, in order to pick up the cup, I have to move my body.

My brain unconsciously issues various commands, such as to put my right foot forward, then my left foot forward, and keep my eyes on the cup.

The act of writing a blog is the same.

After making the decision to write, “The act of writing a blog is the same,” I start typing.

During this time, the typing is done unconsciously.
(I am not thinking about typing T, typing h, typing e, etc.)

Acting unconsciously has the advantages of

・increasing the speed of decision-making

・reducing the burden on the brain

However, there is no thought involved.

It’s like a computer mechanically processing predetermined information at high speed.

The proposition that we cannot survive without earning money naturally leads to an unconscious choice to live in a capitalist society.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the system is bad.

Being aware of the fact that this is an unconscious choice helps us understand the framework to which we belong.

There are many possible directions in which the framework of society will change and be constructed in the future.

It is impossible to free ourselves from all frameworks (including the framework of the natural world), but the freedom to change and choose frameworks exists at the core.
(Whether we do it or not is another matter.)
